In order to get the most from acupressure, it is important to understand where the various acupressure points are located and how to properly stimulate them. When seeing a professional acupressure therapist, he or she will know where to find these acupressure points in order to provide you with the relief you are looking for. If you are not obtaining the services of a professional, however, you may want to access one of the many free acupressure charts located on the Internet in order to determine where the acupressure points you need are located. Then, you can provide the point with the proper stimulation necessary to obtain the results you desire.

Using Free Acupressure Charts to Find the Right Points :-

When you first look at the free acupressure charts you find, they may seem a bit confusing. This is because there are numerous acupressure points that can be used for a variety of different purposes. In order to determine which point is the one you need, however, you need to determine the main problem to be addressed. If you are experiencing back pain because you are feeling a great deal of stress, for example, you should address the stress rather than the back pain. As such, you would need to select acupressure points that help relax the body and alleviate stress rather than those that are intended to help relieve back pain.

Stimulating Acupressure Points :-

Stimulating acupressure points involves applying pressure to that specific area. In order to find the proper point, you should begin exploring the area shown on the free acupressure charts. With the tip of your finger, continue to push various points in the area until you feel a sharp twinge. This may be a bit shocking at first, but you will become accustomed to the feeling after applying pressure to the area a few times. In addition, it will soon begin to feel numb and you will experience a tingling sensation radiating from the point. Once you experience this feeling, you know you have found the right point.

Once the right point has been found, apply pressure to the area for 15 to 30 seconds. Then, find the same point on the other side of your body and repeat the process. You may notice relief almost immediately, though it should be noted that opposite acupressure points can sometimes have the opposite effect. Therefore, you should only apply pressure to the point or points that bring the results you desire. In addition, if you do not experience relief from that acupressure point, move to another one that is listed on the free acupressure charts, as you may get better results from one point when compared to another.

Using free acupressure charts to learn more about acupressure points makes it easier to find relief and to maintain your health. These steps will help you find the proper points for your needs.
